Ok let's set a couple records straight here. I think we are all aware of some common sayings that just don't merit such repetition. A little too much "ado" if you will - but remember, please don't! Many moons ago a frau by the name of Anita Loos wrote the novel Gentlemen Prefer Blondes which would go on to be a national top seller, Broadway sensation and Hollywood flick. The adaptation to the big stage introduced a slew of tunes to accompany Loos' work including "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" which has of course been renditioned by countless bombshells, blonde and non, since. Now, these two titles which have made their way into default vocabulary are subjective by nature indicating an open invitation to the opposite. I move to deteriorate these inflated stereotypes and put forward some thoughts more on point. In the spirit of conventionalism, I'll reference my good friends Jim & Dwight and honor today's holiday May the 4th (be with you) when I introduce today's blog post: "Ladies. Pearls. STAR WARS."
If anything, it's the strawberry locks that could use some special recognition every now and then with their breed of a small flock. I mean really, those birds don't fly by everyday. And pearls are more closely related to us fraus than carbon sludge will ever be. Is the organic birth of a pearl not exactly that same biological process that makes us fraus fraus in the first place? Let's keep this simple. Gentlemen prefer ladies to the lesser - blonde or non. There's nothing impressive about a diamond except for the mining - Fiona Apple once again with lyrics that cut like a --- hot knife. And Dwight, Battlestar Galactica may have had its days but let's face it, no holiday, no title.
Thank you. May the force be with you always.
